How To Clean Wiper Blades?

Jul 03, 2020

Carefully lift the wipers out of their glass into a position that facilitates the cleaning of the wiper blades. If you are unable to clean them, you can use a garden hose and a soft brush or cloth to rinse off dirt and grime and wash the windows.

Dip a clean paper towel or towel in reaming alcohol and wipe the edges of the blades and apply them to paper towels.

The rubber should be pliable and not cracked or brittle, and the edges should all be sharp and smooth, without punctures, chips, or cracks. When using the windshield wipers, do not scrape the ice off the windshield, as it can abrade the rubber and damage the edge.

If you clean the wiper blades really well but say that your glass is still stained with dirt and dirt, you will not do your best to reduce the annoying "wiper noise." One of the most common problems we have seen with windscreen wipers is the film that forms on the windscreen due to oily or greasy road surfaces and mist.

You really have to remove all the dirt and dirt with a lot of muscle juice and leave no streaks.

I like to use a denatured alcohol microfiber cloth to remove dirt and dirt from the windshield. For easy cleaning of the windshield wipers, ensure that you gently lift the windshield and place the wiper in a position that facilitates cleaning of the windshields. As a result, the water simply peels off and the wiper blades glide gently through the window.

Apply a paper towel with a damp cloth or dry cloth to the surface of the wiper blades and the bottom of your windscreen wiper.

Keep yourself in the most desirable position, rub back and forth and also wipe the hinge area of the blade. As soon as you hold it in the desired position, gently wipe down the blades with the paper towel until you can no longer see how the towel discolors. Therefore, you will repeat the process of wiping and discard the towels until they are clean.

After wiping the dirt off the blades, rinse the water clean with water (it should be easy with soap and detergent).

When you are at the edge, you can now start wiping the hinge area of the blade to ensure smooth, fluid movement. Make sure you pass the rubber edge of your wiper blade before drying it with a cloth. Once you have dried your windshield wipers with the cloth, it is time to apply alcohol to your rubber. Note the dirt that comes off rubber edges and wiper blades and make sure you always apply the alcohol.

Finally, wipe the edge of the clean wiper blade with a little grating alcohol and place it in the dryer for a few minutes.

Wipe a small amount of alcohol on the blade to remove the remaining soap or liquid that may not have been rinsed successfully. Remember, do not use alcohol to wash your blade; it is only for washing as it removes the soap film and residues that would be left after washing the rubber.

Once the alcohol has dried, you will be sure that your wiper blade is completely clean, and if you take all three measures, you will be well on your way to cleaning your windshield as well.

Make sure you clean your windshield with a squeegee whenever you stop to get gas and also take a second to clean the wiper blade. Remove anything that sticks to your wiper blade with a cloth and run your fingers over the blade to make sure all debris is clear.

This is also a good time to take a good look at the blade, but you can also wipe it with vinegar and then rinse with water. You may remember that your father occasionally broke out the sandpaper to keep his wiper blade in top shape.

Every time you stop to refill the fuel tank, use a non-abrasive glass sponge to clean the rubber elements and remove loose dirt and dirt. If you go this way, wipe off any dust and use fine sandpaper, then apply a thin layer of kerosene jelly to the edges, which helps keep your rubber soft.

A good rule of thumb is to replace the wiper blades every six months, but if your inspection reveals the following conditions, you might want to buy a new set sooner. Inspect your windshield wipers on a monthly basis and have a specialist check you through when you visit the TA Truck Service. Windshield wipers that used to be used for de-icing can get damaged, so check them monthly.

One of the best ways to clean the windscreen wiper blades is with the help of a specialist at TA Truck Service or your local garage.
